Three Indonesians nabbed for producing falsified documents

KUALA LUMPUR: Three Indonesian nationals believed to have been actively involved in producing falsified documents were arrested at a house in Kampung Tasek Permai, Ampang here on Wednesday.
Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Hamzah Alias said the male and two female suspects in their 30s were arrested by Commercial Crime Investigation Division members at about 10.45pm.
According to Hamzah 36 identity cards, eight E-cards (enforcement cards), six Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) green cards and equipment were seized.
"The fake identity cards were embedded with high-quality chips and we believe the group also reproduce official documents," he told a press conference at Ampang Jaya district police headquarters here today.
He said initial investigations revealed that the identity cards were sold at RM400 each adding that the group which was popular among Indonesians became active six months ago.
Police would check with other agencies including the National Registration Department to track down if the information on the identity cards is in their systems, he added. — Bernama
