(Video) Jamal Yunos arrested after beer smashing protest (Updated)

KUALA LUMPUR: Sungai Besar Umno division chief Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos has been remanded for three days beginning today.
He was arrested early today morning for illegal assembly and public nuisance after he and some of his followers gathered outside the Selangor state secretariat to smash crates of beer in protest against beer festivals.
Earlier, Selangor Crime Investigation Department chief SAC Fadzil Ahmat, confirmed that the controversial Red Shirts' leader and seven others were arrested for their actions.
"They were picked up in Sekinchan at around 1.45am," he added.
He said that a remand order will be sought from the Shah Alam court later today.
The men are being held under Section 143 and Section 268 of the Penal Code for participating in an illegal assembly and causing nuisance to the public after a police report was lodged by the state secretariat guards.
Jamal had brought 100 beer bottles in ten boxes as a symbol of protest against any beer festivals being held in the state.
He arrived at the building yesterday to seek an audience with Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali to voice his objections.
When he was denied entry by guards at the building, Jamal then laid the boxes at the gate of the entrance and smashed all the bottles with a sledgehammer. A video of the incident has since become viral.
If found guilty under Section 143 of the Penal Code, Jamal can be imprisoned for up to six months, or fined, or both.
