TEMERLOH: Come next year, the Pahang Government will organise a 'Re-Visit Pahang 2018' (RVP2018) programme as an extension of its tourism promotion efforts during the Visit Pahang Year 2017 (VPY2017).
State Tourism and Culture Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsuddin said the programme would be launched at the end of this year and for now, was planned to be held from Jan to June next year.
He said one factor which led to RVP2018 was the many new attractions which were discovered during VPY2017, and it would be a loss if these were not promoted.
"One of the new attractions found was Gunung Senyum in Maran, which is a choice destination for people who love rock climbing as it is challenging.
"... and during our visit to Nenasi, Pekan, we found a forest area where the view is like in Florida. All these have potential to be tourist attractions," he told a press conference after launching the Fellowship Ride To The Centre Of Peninsular Malaysia, participated by 400 people at Dataran Temerloh here today.
He said RVP2018 would also help homestay and hotel operators as well as others who would benefit from the economic spillover of VPY2017. — Bernama
