KAJANG: Some 60,000 officers and personnel of the Royal Malaysia Police have completed a preparatory training to face the 14th General Election (GE14).
Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Datuk Seri Zulkifli Abdullah said the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) were among the personnel who had completed the training.
He said the training was to provide exposure to the personnel on their tasks whether at the voter polling centre or when conducting duties related to the general election.
"More personnel will be trained until the date of GE14 is announced. The focus currently is to give exposure on the possible situations which may take place during the general election.
"We want all officers and personnel to be ready for whatever situation," he told reporters after the closing of a police 'Crisis Management And Crisis Negotiation Course' at the General Operations Force's 4th Battalion in Semenyih, here today.
Forty senior officers, including state police chiefs and CID heads, completed the eight-day course from Oct 1. — Bernama
