Bangladeshi woman fined for offering sex service to policeman

KUALA LUMPUR: A Bangladeshi woman was fined RM1,500, in default three months jail, by the Magistrate's Court here today for offering sex service to a policeman.
Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som meted out the fine on Marufa Akter, 25, who pleaded guilty to the charge of soliciting for prostitution.
She was charged with offering the sex service to Sergeant L. Thuraisingam at the five-foot in front of Movida Night Club, Jalan Changkat Bukit Bintang, Dang Wangi, here at 1.30am last Oct 3.
Marufa, who has a child, also pleaded guilty to a charge of misusing her social visit pass by working as a prostituteat the same place and time.
She was fined RM500, in default a month jail, for the offence.
The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Nur Farah Adilah Noordin, while Marufa was unrepresented. — Bernama
