Mystery fire haunts family in Kampung Penambang

KOTA BARU: Residents of Kampung Penambang in Jalan Pantai Cahaya Bulan, here, are puzzled when the 'mystery fire' which used to follow a family seven years ago, has returned to haunt them.
On Sept 19, the family's home, as well as that of a neighbour, were razed in an incident, which they said was caused by the mystery fire.
The victim, Zainab Sulaiman, 80, her daughter-in-law Ropeah Zakaria, 50, and grandchildren Wan Mohd Faiz Wan Hanafi, 21, Wan Nor Fatihah, 19, and Wan Nor Fatini, 17, have had to move several times to avoid a repeat of the incident.
However, the family who have been staying in a relative's house in the village, has since suffered another 'mystery fire' incident where clothes, prayer mats and towels kept in two rooms caught fire last Friday.
Speaking to reporters, the owner of the house Faridah Sulaiman, 75, said the fire appeared five times between 9.30am and 10.30am, causing the clothes, towels and prayer mats which were in the two rooms to catch fire.
Meanwhile, Kelantan Fire and Rescue Department director, Assistant Commissioner Nazili Mahmood said the cause of the fire was still being investigated. — Bernama
