KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit rebounded to kick off the week higher against the US dollar on refresh demand after mild profit taking last week, due to re-emerging tension over the possibility of another missile test by the North Korea, dealers said.
At 9.15am, the local unit was quoted at 4.2290/2340 against the greenback from Friday's 4.2360/2390.
The local note, however, traded mostly lower against other major currencies today.
It strengthened against the Singapore dollar to 3.0984/1025 from Friday's 3.0999/0039 but weakened against the yen to 3.7561/7615 from 3.7500/7533 last week.
The ringgit depreciated against the euro to 4.9644/9720 from 4.9574/9626 on Friday and went down against the British pound to 5.5345/5415 from 5.5326/5378 previously. — Bernama
