PORT DICKSON: The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) is actively imbuing modern agriculture business culture among graduates of higher institutions in efforts to increase food production in the country.
Its chairman Tan Sri Badruddin Amiruldin said Fama would help graduates with financial assistance and guidance in running business ventures especially in the food sector given the high market demand.
"If our country has a lot of products, particularly in terms of food, these will indirectly stabilise prices, the people benefit and the youths can develop their business," he told a media conference after the Graduatepreneur' TN50 Entrepreneurial Programme's MyAgrosis and My BestBuyChillax mega sales in Port Dickson Polytechnic here today.
Also present were state Fama director Muslim Manja and Port Dickson Polytechnic director Roslee Yahya.

Badruddin hoped more graduates would approach Fama to work together in the business field and take advantage of existing opportunities such as obtaining funds allocated by the government through Fama.

"We assure you in the early stage, these traders and farmers will earn RM5,000 per month and if they don't reach the target, we will look into their problems and guide them by checking their shortcomings and weaknesses in the business," he said.
He said young people from the villagers preferred to venture into the agricultural sector while those from towns are more keen in the food industries.
Badruddin said since the programme was launched in December 2011, some 31,379 graduates from 106 higher education institutions had joined the Agriculture Graduate Entrepreneurs Club (MyAgrosis). — Bernama
