Tahfiz school blaze survivors expected to be discharged soon

SHAH ALAM: Two Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah students who survived the tragic blaze will be discharged soon.
Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) Head of the Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Department Dr Normala Basiron said both of the victims who are currently being treated at the Hospital's Burn Unit will be discharged in two weeks time.
"They are recuperating well and currently the burnt wounds are at 1% to 2%.
"They will be discharged soon, maybe in a week or two weeks time," Normala said during a press conference at the 4th Kuala Lumpur Hospital Burn Seminar 2017 held at Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) here.
Also present at the event was Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya.
A total of seven victims from the tahfiz schoo blaze on Sept 14 suffered from more than 20% burns and were hospitalised at HKL for treatment.
Three students were discharged on Sept 17.
The blaze claimed the lives of 21 students and two wardens.
Police arrested seven suspects, aged between 12 and 18.
Two of the suspects were underage youths, both aged 16, and were charged with murder while the others were charged with self-administration of drugs.
