Ammonia leak at ice factory in Senawang

    SEREMBAN: An ice factory at the Senawang Light Industry Estate here was reported have experienced ammonia gas leakage at 5.05pm today.
    Negri Sembilan Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said the gas was believed to have leaked from the ammonia storage tank when maintenance work was being carried out at the plant.
    "Our team together with another from the Senawang Fire Station arrived at the scene 10 minutes later and found the situation to be under control. A 10-man Hazmat team from the Seremban 2 Fire Station was also at hand to plug the leak. No one was injured in the incident," he told Bernama.
    He said the plant resumed operations as normal after the all clear signal was given. — Bernama
