Major police reshuffle

KUALA LUMPUR: A major reshuffle involving the transfers and promotions, including state and department heads, came into effect yesterday for 64 senior police officers.
Heading the list is Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Amar Singh who takes over as the new Bukit Aman Commercial Crimes Investigations Department (CCID) director from Commissioner Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani who will be the new director of strategic resources and technology department (JSST) in Bukit Aman.
Succeeding Amar Singh as Kuala Lumpur police chief will be his deputy DCP Datuk Mazlan Lazim who is promoted to rank of commissioner.
Datuk Zainuddin Yaacob, who is currently the deputy police chief of Perak, is the new Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief.
Taking over from Zainuddin in Perak will be DCP Omar Mammah who was the former deputy director of the department of crime prevention and community security in Bukit Aman.
Datuk Saiful Azly Kamaruddin will take over as the CCID deputy director and will vacate his role as deputy director of the CID Syndicate crimes division.
Former Malacca deputy police chief DCP Datuk Ruslan Hassan will take over Saiful's role at the Syndicate division.
KL Traffic police chief ACP Mohd Nadzri Hussain will take over as deputy director of the Special Task Force, Anti Gambling and Gangsterism (STAGG) in Bukit Aman.
Other officers in Bukit Aman and other states were also promoted as part of the reshuffle.
Most of the promotions take effect on Saturday.
The order was issued by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun.
