IPOH: Little India, a popular ethnic Indian enclave which serves as commercial centre stretching from Jalan Sultan Yussuf to Jalan Lahat will be promoted as a tourist hub to attract more visitors by the Ipoh City Council.
Mayor Datuk Zamri Man said the council will take the necessary initiatives and efforts to make the area more attractive.
Currently, the street's big pull is the Deepavali sales carnival and stage shows which are being held from October 4 to 16.
"Little India had been popular over the years not only among local visitors but also foreigners. We need to publicise and look into attractions for the area," he said after attending the council's Deepavali gathering here today.
