SHAH ALAM: Investigating officer from the Sepang district police headquarters, ASP Wan Azirul Nizam Che Wan Aziz told the High Court, here, today, the names of the four unidentified suspects as revealed to him by first suspect Siti Aisyah, 25, following her arrest.
The ninth witness in the Kim Jong-Nam trial said Siti had identified them as "Mr James", "Mr Y", "Mr Chang", and "Hanamori @ Grandpa-Uncle".
He told deputy public prosecutor Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin that the second suspect, Doan Thi Huong, also mentioned the same names to identify the four individuals when quizzed by him.
Wan Azirul Nizam further testified that Mr James was the person who had recruited Siti Aisyah while Hanamori @ Grandpa-uncle, was the one who provided instructions to Mr Y.
The court also viewed a series of closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage which showed both accused with two unidentified men who are believed to have provided the VX poison used to kill Jong-Nam.
One piece of footage showed Doan walking through KLIA2 with a man wearing a cap.
Another clip showed Siti meeting another man wearing a black cap at a restaurant, less than an hour before the attack.
However, both men's faces were heavily obscured in the footage.
"The man walking with Doan is referred to as Mr Y. He had smeared liquid on Doan's hands," Wan Azirul Nizam said.
Wan Azirul Nizam also told the court that Mr Chang, identified with Siti in another piece of footage, had smeared the oily substance on her hands.
Both men, he confirmed are among four people at large whom prosecutors accuse of having the common intention with the two women to murder the estranged half-brother of North Korean leader, Kim Jong-Un.
However, Wan Azirul neither confirmed whether the four suspects were North Koreans nor told the court whether they were the very four people that police announced had left Kuala Lumpur for Pyongyang on the day of the murder.
During the case, the police identified four North Korean suspects involved in Jong Nam's death as Ri Ji Hyon, 33; Hong Song Hac, 34; O Joong Gil, 55; and Ri Jae Nam, 57 where an Interpol red notice was issued for them.
Trial resumes on October 24 with a planned visit to the klia2, where the murder took place.
