Allianz offers a second lease on life

IF you already suffer from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or have a high body mass index (BMI), chances of you getting medical insurance coverage are pretty bleak.
But fear not, as Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia is offering a lifeline to those currently experiencing the '3 Highs' with its new Allianz 3H Cover.
The Allianz 3H Cover and its 3H Critical Cover rider offer those with the 3 Highs a protection plan against four critical illnesses – heart attack, stroke, cancer, and kidney failure – up to age 85, as well as total and permanent disability (TPD) before age 65, and death.
In the past, those with these pre-existing conditions would have been turned down by insurance companies.
"We want to give Malaysians a second lease on life, and more importantly, much deserved protection," said Allianz Life Insurance Malaysia chief executive officer Joseph Gross.
"At Allianz, we want to build a health network that changes people's lives and their mindset towards improving their health."
Gross was speaking during the recent launch of Allianz 3H Cover in Kuala Lumpur. Also present were Allianz's chief strategy and product officer Yeoh Eng Hun and chief sales officer Ong Pin Hean.
Gross said: "As an added incentive, Allianz 3H Cover also offers a ­Complimentary Added Coverage where customers will ­receive a 50% increase in their death and TPD coverage, and the ability to upgrade their critical illness plan to the full, comprehensive 36 critical illness plan if their cholesterol, blood pressure and BMI is back to normal".
He added this is the company's way to reward those who try and seek changes to their health.
When asked what would the coverage be if the 3Hs a person is suffering from are ­related to other conditions such as autoimmune disease, Yeoh said the company would be looking at each case individually.
In addition, diabetes is not covered by this plan but Gross said it is something they are looking into.
