Anti-Kleptocracy rally: Police reiterate stand despite green light from MBPJ

KUALA LUMPUR: The Police have reiterated their stand on the Anti-Kleptocracy rally despite the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) giving the green light for organisers to use the Padang Timur in Petaling Jaya.
Inspector-General of police Tan Seri Muhammad Fuzi Harun (pix) said that their stand on the issue is firm because there are many security factors at play.
"Firstly we have received 27 reports objecting to the rally," he said at a press conference at the police training centre Pulapol today.
"Other than that there are also traffic and logistic issues to deal with," he added.
He said that the police have given them (the organisers) alternative venues which are more conducive to hold the rally.
Yesterday, Pakatan Harapan said that it will proceed to hold its anti-kleptocracy rally this Saturday in Padang Timur here despite not obtaining approval from the police.
