DPM Zahid to launch Johor government's five initiatives for rakyat tomorrow

JOHOR BARU: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is scheduled to launch five initiatives of the Johor state government set to bring benefits and secure prosperity for people of the state.
The launch will be held at the closing of the 2017 Progressive Johor Expo at Dataran Mahkota, Kota Iskandar, Iskandar Puteri near here tomorrow, said the Media and Communications Unit (Medkom) of the Johor Mentri Besar's Office in a statement today.
The first initiative involves the handover of 95 Johor State Religious Schools (SAKJ) which have been restored throughout the district, to the state government and the appointment of Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor (KPRJ) as design and construction contractor for SAKJ's fifth-phase project.
The second initiative is the handover of religious schools in FELDA to the state government for the purpose of upgrading while the third initiative is the launch of Digital Halal Martz developed by PIJ Holdings Sdn Bhd (PIJH) in an effort to increase sales of halal products of small and medium entrepreneurs.
According to Medkom, the fourth initiative is the introduction of the first cancer patient management system in the country through the use of modern medical technology launched by KPJ Healthcare - IBM Watson.
Ahmad Zahid is also scheduled to witness the symbolic exchange of Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between QSR Brands Holding (M) Berhad and Telekom Malaysia Berhad, which is the fifth initiative of the Johor state government.
The agreement is to provide free internet service to customers at KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants nationwide including 140 KFC and Pizza Hut outlets in Johor.
The 2017 Progressive Johor Expo which started on Oct 6 was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Oct 7.

Some 31 iconic programmes were organised during the nine-day event which included exhibitions, launches, performances and a mass wedding ceremony apart from activities by government-linked companies (GLCs).

Three key clusters were highlighted at the expo, namely the state government, Johor growth plan (PPSJ) and sectoral clusters. — Bernama
