Xin Hwa bags RM13.7m land transportation contracts

    PETALING JAYA: Xin Hwa Holdings Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary Xin Hwa Trading & Transport Sdn Bhd has bagged contracts worth RM13.7 million for the Mass Rapid Transit Route II of Sungai Buloh – Serdang –Putrajaya (MRT Route II) project.
    In a statement today, the group said its unit accepted six letter of awards by BBSB Holdings Sdn Bhd, Bridgex Sdn Bhd and SPC Industries Sdn Bhd, to transport precast segmental box girders and crossbeam for the construction and completion of viaduct guideways and other associated works of the MRT Route II.
    Xin Hwa said the contracts will cover the delivery and transportation of the precast segmental box girders and crossbeam to various project sites of the MRT Route II project.
    "This important contracts win is a ringing endorsement of our expertise and capability in transportation of precast structures in Malaysia and Singapore for the past 10 years," its managing director Ng Aik Chuan said.
    "Going forward, there are a few more opportunities in the pipeline that we are working hard on, and we hope to deliver more good news in the near future," he added.
    Xin Hwa expects the contracts to contribute positively towards the group's earnings for the financial year ending March 31, 2018 (FY18).
    The period of the contracts is until December 2019. The stock was trading two sen higher at RM1.17, with some 6.3 million shares done.
