SITIAWAN: Two boats belonging to the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency caught fire at the Kampung Acheh Fisheries Jetty here early today.
Sitiawan Fire and Rescue chief Tajul Ahmad said they were alerted about the incident at 1.45am and dispatched a team of five firefighters to the scene.
"On arrival, one of the boats was 90% destroyed while the other five percent as a result of the heat from the first," he told Bernama.
However, he said there were no crew members on board either of the boats and also no one was injured on the jetty where they were moored.
He added that it took the firemen about 15 minutes to extinguish the flames. — Bernama
