Entertainment outlet proprietor arrested for possessing drug

SIBU: The proprietor of an entertainment outlet here was among the three men detained for being in possession of drugs yesterday.
During an inspection at the premise in Jalan Brooke Drive at 11.30pm, police found a packet of white powder weighing 0.28gm and blue powder weighing 0.30gm believed to be ketamine in the right pocket of the man's trouser.
Also found were four Eramin 5 pills and a transparent plastic packet containing other pills suspected to be Ecstasy.
"We suspect the man, in his 50s, is supplying drugs to the patrons at this premises," said Sibu District Police Chief ACP Zailanni Amit today.
Earlier, a 24-year-old unemployed man was arrested by the police at Lorong Tiong Hua for possessing two plastic packets of syabu weighing 0.57g.
"At 8.20pm, the man was stopped by the police at Foochow Lane, but when he was about to be inspected, he dashed to make an escape and threw away his crossbody bag. The police gave chase and arrested the suspect at Lorong Tiong Hua," he said.
The third man, aged 26, was arrested in a room of a house at Seduan Lane, Jalan Nang Sang at about 4.40pm, Zailanni said, adding that a packet containing a substance suspected to be syabu weighing 0.41g was found on a small table next to his mattress. — Bernama
