Five-year-old who fell from fifth floor of flat still unconscious

GEORGE TOWN: The five-year-old boy who fell from the fifth floor of a flat yesterday is still unconscious at the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) of the Penang Hospital.
A relative, who declined to be named, said the boy, N. Keshvin, is still unconscious and family members are still waiting for advice from doctors.
"The boy is unconscious and he has not undergone operation yet.
"His parents are waiting for the advice of the doctors," she said when approached by reporters at the hospital here today.
According to Northeast district deputy police chief Supt Izwan Abd Karim, the victim had suffered a crack to his skull, broken ribs and internal bleeding in the stomach.
He said based on a statement from the doctor, the boy might have more fractures and he needed to undergo a surgery as soon as possible.
Yesterday, it was reported that the boy was in critical condition after falling from the fifth floor of a flat at Relau Indah, Halaman Paya Terubong 2, Bayan Lepas here.
Izwan said the victim was alone at home as his mother went to pick up his six-year-old sibling at a kindergarten in Sungai Ara.
