KUALA NERANG: Police have arrested two men, believed to be responsible for several house breaking cases in the Padang Terap and Kota Star districts.
Padang Terap district police chief DSP Noh Idris said the suspects, who are siblings, aged 38 and 39, were arrested in a raid at a house in Kampung Dalam, Mukim Kurong HItam, here last Oct 5.
He said police recovered several items from the house, including an air pump, a grass cutter, four gas cylinders, a laptop a home theatre set and a Astri decoder, all worth more than RM10,000.
"The items were reported stolen in Kuala Nerang and Langgar, Alor Star," he told a media conference here today.
He said both the suspects tested negative for drug.
Noh said police also detained a 49 year-old-man at Jalan Kampung Sungai Siput, Naka, last Oct 10 for allegedly trafficking in drugs.
He said the suspect was found in possession of 153.82gm of heroin and 68.44gm of syabu.
The drugs were packed in eight transparent packets and found in a sling bag which the suspect was carrying, he added.
He said the suspect, also known as "Tupai" had three previous records, including for drug-related offence and vehicle theft.
