Malaysian short film in Fly Film Festival

BUSAN: Linguistic of Restaurant, a short seven-minute film from Malaysia is featuring in the Fly Film Festival which kicked off here last night. It is showcasing 32 films including feature films.
The short is about life as a process, dealing with the art theme. Directed by Bebbra Mailin, a UiTM lecturer, the film shows a scene in restaurant with two friends having a conversation while sitting at an outdoor restaurant table, but a small twist occurs.
The three-day festival is hosted by the Busan Metropolitan City and Busan Film Commission (BFC) and organised by the Busan Asian Film School to commemorate the 2017 ASEAN -ROK Cultural Exchange year.
Linguistic of Restaurant is produced by Ahmad Muzzamil Abdul Rahman, who is also the writer and the editor.
When met by Bernama here, Muzzamil, who attended the festival, said: "The Fly project provides me a breakthrough to be the filmmaker I want to become. I learnt many things during my two weeks in Davao, Philippines, when the first Fly project was held (in 2012).

"That's was the happiest moment in my life, knowing there are many young filmmakers like me in other South East Asian countries," he said.
He said he got selected into the Asian Film Academy and since then his film making journey had changed.
Muzzamil, who holds a Diploma in Creative Technology (Artistic Writing) from UiTM, said because of the Fly Film Festival, his life had changed in many ways and it influenced him as a filmmaker and this was the reason why he had to be at the festival this year.
The opening ceremony was held at the Busan Community Media Centre with the screening of the film My Life With A King (produced in 2015), the directorial debut of Carlo Enciso Catu of the Philippines.
The next round of the Fly 2017 will take place in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from Nov 20 to Dec 3.
The selected 22 trainees from 11 countries have proceeded to the online pre-production stage with a mentor director, which started on Sept 18. — Bernama
