PETALING JAYA: Ahmad Zaki Resources Bhd (AZRB) has secured an additional package worth RM288.5 million for Line 2 of the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project, also known as the Sungai Buloh – Serdang – Putrajaya (SSP) Line.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, it said that its wholly owned subsidiary Ahmad Zaki Sdn Bhd had received and accepted a Letter to Successful Nominated Sub-Contractor from Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) last Friday.
The contract is for package S206 of KVMRT SSP Line, which comprises the construction of three elevated stations, as well as other associated works at Serdang Raya (South), Seri Kembangan and Universiti Putra Malaysia.
“We have successfully completed packages V6 and S6 of MRT Line 1, the Sungai Buloh – Kajang (SBK) Line, and are now undertaking package V202 of MRT Line 2 – SSP Line. This additional package awarded to us demonstrates our capability and excellent track record as a railway infrastructure builder,” AZRB group managing director Datuk Seri Wan Zakariah Wan Muda said in a statement.
“With more railway projects to be rolled out in the next few years, we are confident that our experience and skill sets will position us well in tendering for other major upcoming railway projects such as East Coast Rail Link, Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail and KVMRT phase 3,” he added.
The new contract brings AZRB’s total wins for the year to RM502.5 million. These wins have increased the current unbilled orderbook to RM4 billion, which will sustain the group over the next three to four years.
AZRB’s share price rose 0.91% or 1 sen to close at RM1.11 today with a total of 117,800 shares traded, giving it a market capitalisation of RM590.02 million.
