DPM Zahid in Cox's Bazar to assess refugees' condition

COX'S BAZAR (Bangladesh): Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi arrived here today to visit the Rohingya refugee camp.
Accompanied by Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Richard Riot, he arrived at the Cox's Bazar Airport at 9.10am local time (11.10am Malaysian time).
Ahmad Zahid will visit the Kutupalong Refugee Camp, about 35km from here, before proceeding to visit the site of the Mycorps project, a volunteer project involving Malaysian youths.
His visit here is to assess the situation of Rohingya ethnic refugees from the Rakhine state of Myanmar at refugee camps in Bangladesh.
The visit reflects Malaysia's concern and seriousness on the issue of Rohingya refugees generally. — Bernama
