Sarawak police redouble efforts to eradicate illegal selling of 4D

MIRI: Sarawak police have launched the phase two of the ongoing battle against illegal gambling focusing raids on selling of illegal 4D following the successful eradication of machine and cyber gamblings.
A total of 39 individuals, aged 16 and 61, were arrested in police raids conducted statewide from Oct 9 to 15.
Sarawak Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Chief Datuk Dev Kumar (pix) said the police continued to receive complaints against counters selling illegal 4D, especially in Kuching City.
"We receive the most number of complaints of illegal 4D from Kuchingites, especially at the Kenyalang Park area," he said in a statement today.
He said police arrested 30 individuals and seized RM4,855 cash, mobile phones, portable printers, calculators, betting slips and stationeries in 30 illegal 4D raids conducted in the state.
"Two raids were also conducted against gambling in a public place in Kuching and Limbang in which eight individuals were arrested for gambling holo and a man providing reload services for tablet-based cyber gambling was also arrested in Lawas," he said. — AFP
