Sunway celebrates athletes' achievements

A CELEBRATION was held at Sunway University to pay tribute to athletes of Sunway College and Sunway University who competed in the recent Kuala Lumpur 2017 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. Fourteen athletes, made up of alumni and current students of Sunway garnered a total of seven gold, three silver and four bronze medals for Malaysia.
They include Farah Ann Abdul Hadi, Tan Ing Yueh, Chan Jie, Yeap Zhen Yang, Caroline Chan Zi Xin, Kok Jia Yi, Sin Li Jane, Natashah Mohamed Roslan, Brandon Tan Wai Kin, Moi Jia Yung, Yap Eu Jin and Low Jun Ming.
Students and staff of Sunway College, Sunway University and Sunway International School took the opportunity to meet and take photos with the athletes who were accompanied by Rimau, the Kuala Lumpur 2017 29th SEA Games mascot and Samson, the Sunway University mascot.
Dr Lee Weng Keng, CEO, Education and Healthcare Division, Sunway Group; Dr Elizabeth Lee, senior executive director, Sunway Education Group and Sunway University; Prof Graeme Wilkinson, vice-chancellor, Sunway University; Lee Siok Ping, director, Student LIFE, Sunway Education Group were also present at the celebration together with Lau King Kiew, vice president of the Malaysian Paralympics Council and deputy chef de mission for the 9th ASEAN Para Games.
