KOTA KINABALU: Heavy rain since this afternoon resulted in floods inundating five villages in Kota Belud, 70.5km from here, hence forcing the evacuation of 119 victims comprising 36 families.
According to a statement from the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department, the victims were evacuated to the Tun Said Community Hall in Kota Belud.
The five villages, namely Kampung Donggoi, Kampung Marajah, Kampung Sembirai, Kampung Lingkodon and Kampung Linau were inundated after the water levels at two main rivers – Sungai Abai and Sungai Tempasuk – reached dangerous levels and overflowed. — Bernama
