Perodua three-year programme with children's home

    DEEPAVALI is much brighter for the kids of Shan Children’s Home in Prai, Penang, as Perodua is committing to a three-year Corporate Responsibility programme with it, which includes support in the form of cash, goods and motivational activities.
    In a ceremony held recently, Perodua began the sponsorship programme by contributing over RM20,000 in the form of goods and cash to the children’s home.
    The home, which relies support from the public to stay afloat, houses 19 children – 10 girls and nine boys, ages between six and 18.
    Perodua president and CEO, Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh said: “This is the first time that Perodua is contributing to a non-government organisation in sustainable way as we believe that our contribution should have a longer impact to those assist,” he said.
    During the three-year programme, Perodua will commit to provide motivational talks conducted by professionals, call on its volunteers to spend their time with the children to celebrate birthdays, give them guidance and also free tuitions to the students.
    “In this way, these contribution will have a deeper impact to children as we truly care about all communities that exist in this wonderful country of ours,” Aminar said.
