KUALA LUMPUR: Gerakan president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong is confident that the party will yield better results in Penang in the upcoming general election.
Though Mah did not mention if the party will be able to wrestle the state administration from the opposition, he however, said Penangites are slowly giving their support to Gerakan and the party organisation is getting stronger.
"We are confident that we will be able to do better in Penang because we have become much stronger and we have worked very hard to help all Penangites.
"I urge Penangites to give us a chance to bring some changes," Mah said prior to having a closed-door meeting with some 163 party division chiefs.
He added that he has instructed all the division chiefs to give their utmost support to the 45 shortlisted party coordinators as well as Barisan Nasional candidates.
"Two weeks ago, I have submitted the finalised list for the Prime Minister's consideration.
"The same list was also submitted to the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for vetting and screening process," he said.
In terms of seat allocation, Mah said he will leave the final decision to the PM and the top leadership of BN to decide.
