Student reported missing in Titi Hayun found safe

YAN: Mohd Musyid Abdullah, the 18-year-old male student of a secondary school in Alor Star, who was reported missing in Titi Hayun Recreational Park, here last night, has been found safe.
Yan District Police chief DSP Muhamad Halim Yatim said the student from Jitra went to the recreational park for a picnic with three friends at 10.30am before being separated while hiking to Puteri Mandi waterfall.
The victim's friends made a police report at 7.17pm after failing to find him.
A search and rescue operation began at about 11.30pm by 40 personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, Civil Defence Force and People's Volunteer Corps.
"The victim was found exhausted and injured on his leg after being bitten by leech while in the jungle at about 2.7km from the Titi Hayun area," Muhamad Halim told reporters, here today.

Mohd Musyid was sent to Yan hospital for treatment and returned to his family at about 2.05am. — Bernama
