GEORGE TOWN: Fair compensation should be given to the families of the foreign migrant workers who perished in the landslide tragedy at Lengkok Lembah Permai in Tanjung Bunga, according to a group of Bangladeshi migrants.
The migrants, who knew the victims, told theSun that the developer must not neglect its responsibility, as the workers were killed while out performing their jobs.
"The company should be responsible on the incident, they should not take things lightly just because they were migrant foreign workers," the migrants' spokesman, Shafizul Islam, said.
Shafizul also said the well-being of foreign workers must be upheld at all times through better safety, and insurance coverage at construction sites.
