GEORGE TOWN: About 3,600 residents in Taman Seri Juru at Simpang Ampat and 100 factories in Bukit Minyak Industrial Park, near here will experience water supply disruption for eight hours from 10pm on Oct 28, according to the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP).
PBAPP chief executive officer Datuk Jaseni Maidinsa said, in a statement, today that the disruption was due to the replacement of a 600mm electromagnetic flow meter to enable accurate measurement of non-revenue water (NRW).
"A new 600mm electromagnetic flow will be installed to accurately measure NRW losses in the Bukit Minyak Industrial Park. To enable meter replacement works, PBAPP must temporarily shut down an existing 600mm mild steel water supply pipeline in the area," he said.
Jaseni said the installation of the new 600mm electromagnetic flow meter is necessary to ensure precise NRW management in the Bukit Minyak Industrial Park.
"Affected consumers are kindly advised to store sufficient water for overnight use. PBAPP deeply regrets any inconvenience caused," he said. — Bernama
