8 Chinese independent schools in Klang Valley reject 2,500 students

PETALING JAYA: At least 2,500 students have been rejected by eight Chinese independent schools in the Klang Valley due to limited seats.
The eight schools in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor have closed their enrolment of students for next year.
China Press reported that the schools had to turn away the students due to limited number of classrooms.
The principal of Pin Hwa High School in Klang, Wu Li Qi, said the school had exceeded its student intake. About 60 students are on waiting list.
"We are controlling the number of students. One can only take up the seat unless someone has vacated the place. We will inform parents to register on Oct 31," he said.
The report said the Confucian Independent High School in Kuala Lumpur would be able to accommodate students once its integrated building is completed. Construction is set to start on Nov 19 and it is expected to be ready by 2020.
