KUALA LUMPUR: No one should make any speculation about the purchase of a four-star hotel in Kensington, London, by Felda Investment Corporation (FIC) as the case is still under investigation, says Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy chief commissioner (Operation) Datuk Seri Azam Baki.
He said, right now, the MACC was in the midst of collecting evidence from foreign parties allegedly involved in the hotel purchase.
"This includes statements from the lawyer and seller (of the property in London)," he told Bernama.
Besides, Azam said the MACC had completed the process of taking statements and obtaining documents from local parties, and that Felda itself had given its full cooperation during the process.
He said the MACC, however, would not disclose details of the ongoing investigations and that no one should make any speculations on the matter.

Azam said this when asked to comment on the allegation made by PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli that the hotel did not belong to FIC as it was owned by another company.
Last Tuesday, Felda stressed that no new company had been set up and operating in London by the FIC as alleged by the opposition.
It chairman, Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad, said Rafizi had made a serious allegation that FIC had purportedly established a new company on Oct 17, 2017. — Bernama
