Abolishing the EDL toll will save motorists RM16.50 per roundtrip

JOHOR BARU: Abolishing toll at the Johor Baru Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) will save the average motorist RM16.50 per roundtrip.
Kluang MP Liew Chin Tong when contacted today said since November 2014, he has called for the EDL toll charge to be abolished as it would bring relief to the workers who commute to Singapore.
According to statistics, an average of 20,000 Singapore-registered vehicles enters Malaysia daily via the Causeway and the Second Link.
Apart from the EDL, the toll will also be abolished at the Federal Highway - Batu Tiga, Shah Alam and Sungai Rasau, Selangor - and the Bukit Kayu Hitam in Kedah.
The abolishment of toll will take effect on Jan 1.
