Cops nab two suspects involved in Chemor snatch theft (Video)

    IPOH: Police have nabbed two men believed to be suspects involved in a snatch theft incident in front of a house at Desa Chemor Permai, here.
    A video of the incident which went viral on social media shows a pillion rider alighting from a motorcycle and trying to snatch a gold necklace from a woman.
    Ipoh City Police chief ACP Sum Chang Keong said the victim a 34-year-old clerk who was riding a motorcycle herself, stopped in front of a house at 7pm.
    A man suddenly appeared from behind and attempted snatch her gold chain, and the victim fought against the thieve and fell to the ground.
    The victim's scream for help managed to alert her husband who gave chase and caught the man.
    However the suspect fought back and before hopping on the bike and fleeing.
    "During the commotion the husband came out and went after thieve. The suspect failed to take any valuables from the victim," said Sum.
    Following this, a police report was lodged at the Kuala Kuang police station on Oct 25.
    Police picked up two men on Friday and today to facilitate investigations.
    Both of the suspects had previous records, one for drug related offence and the other for criminal offence.
    They have been remanded until Oct 31 and Nov 2.
