KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has vowed to provide speedy service in the event of a disaster or emergency in the state.
Its director, Nordin Pauzi said JBPM lauded information and experience sharing with their counterparts in other states to achieve this aspiration.
"In Sabah, we need the input from sharing nationwide. Many issues, including actions and improvements which took place in other states will be shared by senior officers in Putrajaya, to be studied and scrutinised.
"Thus, we in Sabah are more prepared," he told reporters after the opening of the Zone and Fire Station Chief Excellence Enhancement Programme by JBPM deputy director-general (operations) Datuk Soiman Jahid here today.
Nordin said the programme gave an opportunity to the state JBPM to share and discuss the best methods to overcome disasters and emergencies in the state. — Bernama
