IPOH: The services of 15 of the Perak government's 20 agencies and departments received five-star rating last year, said Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir (pix).
He said three other state government departments received four-star rating and two got three-star rating through auditing conducted by the National Audit Department.
Zambry said 17 agencies and departments in the state would be audited this year and he hoped they had prepared themselves in order to get the best results.
In this regard, he said, all the government agencies and departments in the state were urged to undertake transformation through various innovations outside the normal.
"Each agency and department should think of an innovative project to be tabled to the state government for the sake of the state's development."
Zambry said this when officiating at the Perak State-Level Public Innovation Platform 2017 event and presentation of the Accountability Index Five-Star Excellence Award Certificate 2016 to the 15 top agencies and departments.
He said the state government was always thinking of ways how each agency and department in the state could meet the 134 criteria set to achieve five-star rating.
"This is to ensure that all the agencies and departments can meet the international standards, while contributing ideas and the best system that can be used, hence indirectly contributing to the state's development," he added. — Bernama
