Logging, agriculture activities still being conducted in Hulu Kelantan: Mohd Amar

KOTA BARU: The Kelantan state government has never issued any instruction to logging and agriculture companies to stop their activities in Hulu Kelantan during the monsoon season.
Kelantan Deputy Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said so far, all logging and agriculture activities in the area were still being conducted.
"The state government has never issued an instruction to these operators to stop their activities even during the monsoon season.
"Only after the big floods in 2014, we monitored the logging and agriculture activities in the interior areas and only intervened if there were reports from the relevant agencies," he told reporters when met after the State Executive Council (Exco) Meeting at Komplex Kota Darul Naim here today.
However, Mohd Amar said, agriculture and logging operators usually cut down or stop their operations if the weather was not conducive, especially from Oct and Nov. — Bernama
