Three more nabbed in probe into woman pimping daughters

JOHOR BARU: The Johor police have arrested three more individuals to facilitate investigations into the case of two sisters allegedly prostituted by their mother here last Wednesday.
Two of the suspects were Bangladeshi men, both aged 35, detained in Kulai and Johor Bahru yesterday afternoon while the other was a 48-year-old local man who is also the duo's employer.
In a statement here today, Johor police chief Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd said the local man was nabbed in Kulai about 1.30pm today, and would be investigated under Section 55B of the Immigration Act.
The latest arrests bring to eight, including seven Bangladeshis, the number of people in police custody to facilitate investigations.
Yesterday, five Bangladeshi men aged between 28 and 42 were detained in Senai. The police have also identified the main suspect and are in the midst of bringing him in to book.
On Wednesday, the police arrested a 39-year-old woman for allegedly prostituting her daughters aged eight and 10, to three foreign men at a budget hotel in the city.
The woman who was picked up at her house in Taman Bintang, Senai near Kulai, was suspected of having been involved in the activity since last month.
She was said to have taken her daughters to the hotel every Friday and left the victims with the three men. In return, the single mother received RM50 each time the girls were prostituted.
Both victims have been referred to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital for examination. — Bernama
