KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians should take pride in the fact that the country has achieved success in various fields locally and internationally throughout 2017, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Najib said the present government always took a balanced approach in formulating the Malaysian blueprint for a brighter future.
"In preparing our nation's human capital, becoming more competitive, facing the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the country's policy is also drawn up based on religion, as seen through the rise of the Malaysia Syariah Index scores this year in terms of the health, infrastructure and the economic and social environments," he said in a post today on his blog, NajibRazak.com.
In terms of infrastructure, he said, the urban population now enjoyed an integrated public transportation network through the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) service, and rural residents in the East Coast were set to enjoy economic benefits from the ECRL (East Coast Rail Link) project that was launched this year.
On foreign policy, Najib said Malaysia had built good relations with the world's major and small powers to preserve the sovereignty of the country.

"In fact, the success of our athletes in both the SEA Games and the Asean Para Games should be praised as this is evidence of a balanced sports development effort for anyone representing Malaysia," he said.
The Prime Minister said that although efforts to bring balance in each choice or decision would certainly not please everyone, the present government would always strive to ensure that it is fair as portrayed by the Barisan Nasional logo of the 'dacing' (weighing scale). — Bernama
