Ambiga breaks silence on Sarawak Report claims

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Bar Council president Datuk S. Ambiga Sreenevasan has responded to claims that she was a source for articles in Sarawak Report.
"The recently disclosed defence and counter-claim in the (Datuk Seri) Abdul Hadi Awang vs Clare Rewcastle-Brown suit filed in the UK, has in Malaysia been focused on two paragraphs in which I have been specifically named.
"The forum for the proceedings in the UK was chosen by the claimant (Hadi), as he is perfectly entitled to do.
"It is therefore in the UK court, that any request or demand for documents or information must be made. It is there that the trial will be held. In the UK. Not in Malaysia," she said in a statement.
Ambiga said she had been a victim of targeted acts of intimidation and harassment for the past few days, receiving a barrage of attacks from ministers and others aligned to Hadi.
