DAP unable to solve people's issues, says MCA Deputy President

KUALA LUMPUR: The DAP has been unable to solve many issues faced by the people, and these include Chinese education, said MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The opposition party was also consistently inconsistent in its stand on many issues, he said, adding that DAP secretary-general and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was only good at empty talk and politicising issues for their own agenda.
"The way he (Lim) expresses himself is to make MCA look like a fool to win votes but, in reality, he has always envied MCA for being able to resolve matters involving Chinese education," he said when opening the 53rd MCA Youth annual general meeting at Wisma MCA here today.
Wee said that since DAP took over the Penang state government in 2008, it has been gambling not only with the state's future but also with the lives of the people.
Citing the landslide in Tanjung Bungah last month that claimed 11 lives, Wee said the DAP would do anything to defend their political agenda and would portray themselves as saints who never made mistakes.
"They (the DAP-led state government) have always pushed the blame and responsibility to the previous state government and in this (landslide) case, they tried to link the Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC) located near the area to the tragedy," he said.
He also vowed that MCA would fight hard in the next general election to win more seats, adding that under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak, the Barisan Nasional had implemented various development and transformation policies that were inclusive and benefited all communities.
Wee also urged MCA youth members to be pragmatic and practical in reaching out to the young generation in the country as well as help to empower them economically, such as through the MCA 10 Economic Strategic Directions launched in 2015.
Meanwhile, MCA Youth chief Datuk Chong Sin Woon said the BN administration had a good future penned and clearly charted for Malaysians.
Citing the Digital Free Trade Zone (DFTZ) and National Transformation 2050 (TN50), Chong, who is also Deputy Education Minister, said these were perfect examples of the government's initiatives in enhancing the next generation in the digital era. — Bernama
