PETALING JAYA: The much anticipated Taiwan Expo is finally coming to Malaysia, making its final tour stop after a successful showcase of innovative products in Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam.
The expo will be displaying more than 5,000 made-in-Taiwan products and services by some 180 Taiwanese vendors, each with their own specialities across Taiwan's eight main industries via 11 themed pavilions.
According to Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia representative James Chang Chi-Ping, the expo is designed to incorporate the three main pillars of the Taiwan government's ongoing New Southbound Policy - economic and trade cooperation, talent exchanges, and resource sharing.
"The expo aims to present Taiwan by sharing experiences and different fields from local technology, agriculture, medical care, education and other demanding aspects in the hopes of establishing a long-term mutually beneficial relationship," he said.

Through the features of Taiwan excellence, green technology, e-commerce services, education & careers, medical services and culture & tourism, this is the first step for the expo to share resources mutually en route to regional connection and cooperation.

"Apart from the product exhibition, Taiwan Expo will also feature other activities such as business matchmaking, industry forums, cultural performances, lucky draws and product presentations, with each event presenting an opportunity for both countries to foster long-term and mutually beneficial relationships between Taiwan and Malaysia," Chang said.

Chang added that the industry forum will touch on a wide range of issues ranging from green living, creative e-commerce, health industry, Taiwan halal industry promotion, intelligent transportation development and beauty product launches.

Themed "BEST for MY Life!" the expo which will be held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on Nov 9 to 11 is surely the event that all Taiwan fans and potential business partners alike should not miss. Admission is free.
