Book the new Myvi from tomorrow, starts from RM44,300
PERODUA has announced that the all-new Myvi will be open for bookings tomorrow. In a "special media announcement" this morning, the company stated that the new model, which is the first Perodua model to have an upper body designed completely in-house, will come in five variants.
All are powered by Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre engines equipped with Dual VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing with intelligence), paired to a five-speed manual transmission in the 1.3-litre variant or a four-speed automatic unit in the rest. Longer, lower and wider than its predecessor, the new Myvi’s variants and prices (on-the-road, with GST, without insurance, for Peninsular Malaysia) are:
- 1.3 Standard G (manual transmission): RM44,300.
- 1.3 Standard G (automatic transmission): RM46,300.
- 1.3 Premium X (automatic transmission): RM48,300.
- 1.5 High (automatic transmission): RM51,800.
- 1.5 Advance (automatic transmission): RM55,300.
Perodua was also proud to reveal that the new Myvi, its launch date yet to be confirmed, is also the first vehicle in its price range in Malaysia to introduce a suite of advanced safety features. “More convenience features and equipment are offered than ever before, without compromising its trademark value-for-money and quality,” said company president and CEO, Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh.
Among the features in the new Myvi are:
- Eco Idle (1.3X, 1.5H, 1.5A variants): The engine automatically shuts down when the car is stopped and restarts when the brake pedal is released. Along with aerodynamic improvements, the Myvi achieves 20.1 km-per-litre fuel economy for its 1.5-litre engine.
- All variants get LED headlights with “Follow Me Home” function and headlight levelling, smart entry with push start, 60:40 folding rear seat and reverse sensors.
- 14-inch alloy rims for the 1.3-litre variants and 15-inch alloy rims for the 1.5-litre variants.
- The 1.5H variant has a sporty front and side skits, two-tone rear bumper, rear spoiler and a built-in toll reader – a first for any Perodua car. “Simply insert your Touch ‘n Go card into the reader and you’re good to drive through SmartTag toll lanes,” says Perodua.
- The range-topping 1.5A variant gets Advanced Safety Assist (ASA), a suit of advanced safety features that comprises of Pre-Collision Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, Front Departure Alert and Pedal Misoperation Control. These systems operate through a forward-facing recognition camera located behind the rear-view mirror.
- All variants get ABS with EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). The 1.5-litre variants come with six airbags while four airbags are standard in the 1.3-litre variants.
“A five-star Asean NCAP rating is targeted,” the company stated yesterday.
The new Myvi comes in six colours: Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Mystical Purple, Lava Red, Peppermint Green (new colour, for 1.3-litre variants only) and Granite Grey (new colour, for 1.5-litre variants only).
You can catch a sneak preview of the new Myvi at the Malaysia Autoshow held at the Malaysian Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) tomorrow until Sunday.
