Divorced couple nabbed for house break-in cases

BESUT: Police detained a divorced couple who were actively involved in house-breaking activities around Besut and Pasir Puteh, Kelantan in a housing estate near Jertih, here yesterday evening.
Besut police chief, Supt Mohd Zamri Mohd Rowi said the suspects were detained after the police found various stolen items in a house at Taman Desa Saujana near Jertih, here.
He said the suspect, a 26-year-old man and his ex-wife aged 23 were local residents and were unemployed.
"Among items discovered by the police in the 5pm raid were electronic items, jewellery, RM200 in cash, eight units of laptops, two units of Canon and Nikon cameras, two units of tablets, two units of handphones, house break-in tools and the victims' personal documents such as identity cards," he told reporters, here today.
Mohd Zamri said, initial investigations found the suspects admitted that they had committed break-in activities into houses and schools including Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) Kota Putera, Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Pusat Jertih, SK Tempinis, Sekolah Menengah Sains Pasir Puteh and the Teachers Training Institute, Sultan Mizan Campus.
Both suspects were arrested under Section 457 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
