Mindfulness skill for success

GOOGLE is extending its Search Inside Yourself (SIY) leadership training programme beyond its Googleplex headquarters.

This programme, with its tagline of 'We put mindfulness to work', teaches the tools for focus, self-awareness and resilience to individuals or organisations looking to improve their quality of life.

Based on neuroscience, the SIY was pioneered by Google engineer Tan Chade-Meng as an in-house programme for his fellow Googlers.

The programme harnesses the power of our mindfulness, an often-overlooked quality that plays a prominent role in helping us achieve a better world, as well as taps into our emotional intelligence.

Through these two skills, participants will experience greater well-being and stress management; improve on performance, collaboration and empathy; as well as become more effective decision-makers and innovative, creative thinkers.

This two-day workshop programme, which has already blazed through 100 cities throughout the world, will take place on Nov 10 and 11 at the Advanced Global Institute of Learning Excellence (Agile), in Petaling Jaya, from 9am to 5pm.

Agile is a member of Taylor's Education, and also an approved Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) training provider in Malaysia and the region.

The two-day workshop will be facilitated by Peter Weng, along with Brandon Rennels and Karkheng Yeoh.

Weng has an MBA from the University of California in Los Angeles, and has been involved in mindfulness and meditation programmes in various settings.

Rennels is a teacher development manager at Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute while Yeoh is a SIY certified teacher.

Tickets for the workshop is priced at RM2,300 each, while groups of two to four can enjoy the discounted price of RM2,100 per ticket, and groups of five and more only pay RM1,800 each.

The first 80 who sign up for the workshop will be gifted with a free Search Inside Yourself book.
