Police looking for 86 individuals to assist crime cases

ALOR STAR: Kedah police are tracking down 86 wanted individuals including two women to assist investigations of criminal cases statewide from 2010 to 2017.
Kedah Criminal Investigation Department chief SAC Mior Farid Al Atrash Wahid said from the number, four individuals are wanted for murder cases, sexual violence (24), causing injury (14), robbery (20), violence (5), property (16), burglary (1), human trafficking (1) and a case under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).
"The four men were involved in murder cases in 2008, 2012 and 2017 in Sungai Petani and Pendang while the two women are wanted for property and robbery cases.
"We believe the individuals are still in Kedah and some of them are outside the state, that is why we spread the information for them to be arrested immediately," he said in a press conference at the Kedah Contingent Police Headquarters, here today.
Therefore, the police urged members of the public with information on them to notify the nearest police station.
On another matter, Mior Farid said the police seized 661 gambling machines and RM240,012 cash from 1,694 raids through Ops Dadu that were conducted since January 2017.
"During the special Ops Dadu on Sept 21, the police had arrested 271 individuals who are the premises owners and gamblers, and seized 96 gambling machines and RM500,000 cash.
"Yesterday, the state Entertainment Licence Monitoring Special Task Force meeting had decided to amend the state Entertainment and Places of Entertainment Enactment 1997, in strengthening the enforcement and curbing the gambling activities in the state," he said. — Bernama
