Creating the correct vibes

FENG shui literally means 'wind and water'. Wind represents the unseen in our lives and water represents the seen or the visible.
So a gentle breeze or a meandering stream symbolises the ideal flow of qi or energy in our environments.
In feng shui, every physical object around us produces a corresponding effect either good or bad.

The smallest change in the arrangement of these objects can spell the difference between success and failure, between a bustling business and a doomed enterprise, or between a happy marriage and one riddled with irritants, and between long life and bad health.
In the practice of feng shui, your first impression as you enter a home or room is very important.
By crossing a threshold, you enter a new environment or another world.
You experience particular qualities, moods, and presences, both visible and invisible, that condition our homes and workplaces and influence our lives.
Feng shui also addresses almost the entire spectrum of human aspiration.
The practice operates at various levels. It can be highly personalised when practised according to specific compass school formulas, or it can be broad-based and generalised.

In the ancient days, the method involves interpretation of the terrain, contours, shapes, topography, elevation, rivers, and waterways, while the compass feng shui offers recommendations in terms of compass directions.
A proper analysis of your home or office primarily calls for understanding the compass directions – its influence, the immediate surrounding and environment of your building, the interior layout décor, placement of objects, etc.
This kind of analysis calls for a professional help to mitigate the ill effects and to enhance the good sectors of your home or office.
A few basic feng shui fundamentals can no doubt be incorporated by many which would be quite general and would offer you some comfort.
It would be in your best interests to apply feng shui and Vaastu from the inception to have the best design in your house.
The areas where you are likely to spend most of your time are the best power areas, hence identifying these sectors in your home would help you in creating a good feel of energy.
These areas need to be the centre of focus and then you can have the whole house designed around it.
To activate good energy and prosperity, a very effective and proven cure in feng shui is the use of moving water.
Water and fish are linked to prosperity in feng shui and there are many ways that water can be used to activate this energy. It could be through placement of water features, water plants, fish ponds (left) or aquariums.
You could also use a painting of a prosperous-looking scene, or something else that is meaningful to you.
When you enhance this area with whatever you choose, do so with the conscious intention that you are doing so to bring more prosperity to your life.
Taking stock of your emotions, your relationships, your finances, and everything in your home that affect you throughout an ordinary day is crucial for trying out feng shui design changes.
Every design change that you make is important, even when the change is in a form of a furniture placement or positioning of other inanimate objects using feng shui principles.
