IPOH: Police believe they have cut off a drug distribution line in the Perak Tengah district following the arrest of a husband and wife in Bandar Seri Iskandar on Tuesday.
Perak Narcotics Investigation Department chief ACP R. Ravi Chandran said police are investigating the extent of their network, including the involvement of the woman.
"They have no previous police records and their urine tests results were negative," he told reporters here today.
A police team spotted a car with the occupants parked in front of a shophouse at 9.15pm.
Upon inspection, they found 1.816kg of heroin worth RM45,400 in the car.
The couple have been remanded until Nov 14 to facilitate investigations under Section 39(B) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
He said a follow-up operation led to the seizure of a motorcycle, four mobile phones and an ATM card with RM13,690 in the attached bank account from a house in Pusing.
